“113 FIAT 500s” at the PETRONAS Global Research Centre

 

Santena (Turin), September 18, 2025 - PETRONAS Lubricants International is preparing to host an event that combines historical memory and technological innovation with a strong impact on the territory.

Saturday, September 27, starting at 8:30 a.m., PETRONAS Global Research Center will be transformed into an open-air museum thanks to the initiative “113 Fiat 500”, organized as part of the Turin Motor Show of which the company will be a partner.

An exclusive event celebrating the company's 113th anniversary with the same number of historic Fiat 500s, a symbol of an era and an integral part of Piedmont's industrial and social history.

The gathering is organized under the patronage of Municipalities of Santena e Villastellone and with the collaboration of the Friends of Borgo Cornalese, from the Fiat 500 Club Italia – the largest club dedicated to this model in the world, with 23.000 members in Italy and hundreds of thousands worldwide.

The day will begin with a welcome from Club members and institutional presentations at the Research Center Auditorium, followed by a tour of the plant, research laboratories, and the PETRONAS museum.

At the same time, the public will be able to admire the cars on display, with a maximum of 113 visitors register They can participate in a contest and vote for their favorites. The judging criteria are originality, state of preservation or restoration, and customization consistent with the period style.

 

The contest will end with the awards in Aimerito Square In Santena, during a gathering open to the public. It will be an opportunity to admire a piece of Italian history up close, through a parade that combines a passion for cars with the promotion of the local area.

From the afternoon, starting from 13: 45, the 113 cars will cross the central streets of Villastellone, passing through the suggestive Borgo Cornalese, to then reach Aimerito Square, next to Cavour Park in Santena.

At 15: 00, ten of the Fiat 500s will depart from Santena towards Turin, arriving at La Pista 500 at Lingotto, while the remaining 103 will arrive in Corso Cairoli in Turin where they will be able to be admired by visitors to the Motor Show.

Also at the PETRONAS Lubricants International stand in Piazza Castello, a historic Fiat 500 will be on display on Saturday 27th, acting as a common thread between Santena, Villastellone, and Turin, places that embody the legendary history of this car and the fluids that have always powered it.

There will also be an artistic space with the "Eko500 Project”, installation by the Piedmontese artist Gianni Depaoli part of the Organic Trash Art project, which reinterprets the 500 as a symbol of multi-ethnicity, sustainability, and biodiversity.
