“Drying out clothes” at the 500 Museum
The much-loved t-shirts celebrating the Fiat 500 International Meeting were the protagonists of the 2019 exhibition.
An essential “uniform” for event participants, but also an authentic collector's item for enthusiasts (even those who are not strictly Cinquecento enthusiasts), the rally T-shirt is a constant feature of all Garlenda events.
The layout chosen to display the t-shirts is original: threads stretched through the rooms of the Museum and t-shirts hung as if they were clothes to dry. This has made it possible to admire them “front and back”, as they often feature designs and writing not only on the chest, but also on the back and sleeves.
The exhibition also provided an opportunity to remember the creativity of the graphic designers – professionals or amateurs – who tried their hand at creating the symbolic images of each edition, including, as for the 2010 Meeting, the young schoolchildren who participated in the competition “The 500 in the eyes of children”.
