An extraordinary combination of motoring passion, history and Umbrian artisan excellence will characterise the 9th National Fiat 500 Rally organised by Deruta Coordination, scheduled for Sunday, April 11, 2026. The event, of national importance, will see the activation of a valuable collaboration with the Art High School, which has made itself available to create the prizes up for grabs: 30 miniature Fiat 500s decorated with traditional ceramic techniques.
The rally, which for years has celebrated the iconic Italian small car, a symbol of the post-war era and the economic boom, is preparing to welcome crews and enthusiasts from every corner of Italy. The final location will be announced soon, in one of the most suggestive Umbrian frames.
The Fiat 500 is more than just a car; it's a true piece of history and culture, a relic that bears witness to an era and a lifestyle, and on this occasion it will become a vehicle, not just literally, for the promotion of local traditions and art.
The focal point of the 2026 edition is the unprecedented synergy with the Alpinolo Magnini Art High School in DerutaThe students are enthusiastically dedicating themselves to decorating the 30 miniature “Cinquecento/gadget” cars, which will be donated to the winners of the gathering and to distinguished guests.
These small sculptures, faithful reproductions of the 500, are made of ceramic, thus paying homage to the artistic tradition of Deruta, famous throughout the world. decorations They are executed with typical ceramic painting techniques, transforming each miniature into a unique piece of high artisanal and artistic value. This project not only provides young students with important practical experience, but also underscores the inextricable link between the identity of the territory and its artistic workers.
