Official opening of the 36th Garlenda Meeting

This morning saw the official opening of the biggest party dedicated to the legendary 500.

Since the morning in Borgata Nuova in Garlenda (SV) hundreds of crews have registered, collecting the number plate and the welcome bag. At 11, the director of the Meeting, Alessandro Scarpa, welcomed all the participants, illustrating the program of the intense weekend. Jill Forde, from the Fiat 500 Club Ireland, guests of honor this year, then took the floor, thanking the town of Garlenda for its hospitality and sharing the enthusiasm and emotion of being together with the other hundreds of crews from all over Europe.

Silvestro Catelli, CEO of Baseco srl, presented the work created for this year's #500PicPoint, a skip loader with the silhouette of the 500: the traveling work, created thanks to the collaboration of the Zerovolume Cultural Collective, aims to draw attention to the importance of waste recovery and recycling.

Followed by the deputy commander of the Albenga Highway Police, Giovanni Delle Site explained the meaning of the presence of the beautiful Lamborghini Gallardo in blue and white livery, a strong reference to Road Safety, a theme that has accompanied the Fiat 500 Club Italia and its events for several years.

Francesco Bonasera, Vice President of the Province of Savona, also wanted to thank the organization of the Meeting and the Municipality of Garlenda, especially for the impact of image on the surrounding area, for which the Garlenda event represents a great tourist attraction.

Roberto Zizzadoro, Business Development Manager of Allianz Italia, was also present, illustrating to the public the new features regarding the agreements dedicated to members of the Fiat 500 Club Italia.

After the greetings of the mayor Silvia Pittoli, present together with her video Alessandro Navone, the godmother UNICEF Colomba Tirari gave a moving moment, full of emotion. Colomba in fact donated to the Club a Unicef ​​flag, a precious object that symbolizes the thanks of the many children who have been helped thanks to the collaboration of the Coordinations of all Italy, always present and attentive to lend a hand to spread the important messages of the Onlus.

Ugo Elio Giacobbe, curator of the 500 Museum, then invited the public to move to the rooms of the “Dante Giacosa” for the official opening of the exhibition “The Meeting and its T-shirts” and for the inauguration of the large panel dedicated to the 500 and derivatives, created thanks to the collaboration with designer Jean-Jacques De Galkowsky, founding president of the Fiat 500 et Derivée de France Club and the National Technical Commissioner Enrico Bo.
