Dublin, big party at the Embassy with the 500

Every year at the International Meeting of Historic Fiat 500s in Garlenda (SV), a guest nation is named as guest of honour: 2019 is Ireland's turn.

On the occasion of the birth of this Ireland-Italy union that celebrates a great icon, the Italian Embassy in Dublin has invited the Irish Club and the Fiat 500 Club Italia, represented by Alessandro Scarpa, to attend the Republic Day, organized for May 30th. The cars that will participate in the expedition, together with the other 500s of the Irish Club, will be positioned in front of the embassy, after having traveled in convoy through the streets of Dublin.

Jill Forde of the Fiat 500 Club of Ireland said: “We are very excited to have received the invitation. We are busy preparing the cars for the long journey to Italy.” She added: “It is a big challenge for our little cars, which have a quarter of the power of a modern engine. We will have to take our time getting there! We are thrilled to be leading the 1000 car parade to Garlenda and meeting fellow Cinquecentisti from all over the world!”

“We are delighted to welcome the Irish 500s here in Italy, and we greatly appreciate the effort of travelling 2,500 kilometres by land and sea to join us in Garlenda. They can be sure of a great welcome at the ‘home of the historic 500’,” says Alessandro Scarpa.
