Two small updates following two events that saw the Naples Coordinations involved in recent months.
Collar
Memorial Hugon of Ercolano on April 6, we had a little bit… overrun with the participants: in the face of an authorization of 60 cars from the command of the Municipal Police, we arrived at 81 cars booked in a day and a half! However, we managed to organize ourselves to the point that the mayor and the authorities have already given us an appointment for next year. Not only that: when we went to the Commander of the Municipal Police to give him the Club plaque to put in the office (we personalize them with a small white dedicated plaque and they are very successful), he, very happy with the gift that also included a cup with the Coordination logo and with the success of the event, declared to us: "Doctor, next year we'll make 100 cars!".
Even with regards to the event “500… Ladies at the Castle” on May 11th in Bacoli (NA), we closed the circle with the delivery of a plaque and tributes to the mayor Josi Gerardo Della Ragione who, being always super busy between institutional commitments in Rome, the fight against the Camorra and illegal building, the recovery of the archaeological spaces of the Flegrean Area, the restoration of all the abandoned areas of the territory to make them accessible to the population and tourists and a frantic search for funding to spend on the territory, only managed to find a “last minute” space to receive us in his office and exchange a few words (which then became 6… 😊).
With the trustee of Naples South Francesco Puzone and on behalf of Antonello Martina (trustee of Naples City, absent for work), we gave the nice "Josi" the Club plaque personalized for the occasion, the event cushion that we gave as a gift to all the participants in the gathering, our cap that he promptly wore to take pictures and all our availability to participate in public events that he wanted to organize with our presence. He, on the other hand, seemed very happy with how our event went and above all encouraged us to return to organize initiatives in the area renewing his and his collaborators' willingness to always welcome us with open arms. "Working" with such far-sighted people, against all those who always find a myriad of bureaucratic quibbles, is always a huge pleasure. When these people then find themselves in a wonderful territory for natural beauty, panoramas, history, archaeological sites… even if the earth shakes every now and then… it doesn't scare us!
