And it was truly "a special day" that one experienced by a Fiat 500 F, aquamarine in color, owned by the undersigned, trustee of the Belluno Coordination of the Fiat 500 Club Italia.
The car was requested from me through the staff member, Aurora Trevisan, for the realization of numerous shots during the recording of an episode of the well-known program "Una giornata particolari", hosted by the journalist Aldo Cazzullo.
The “special day” in question is October 9, 1963, the date on which the Vajont disaster: a landslide fell from the overlying slope of Mount Toc into the waters of the Alpine basin created by the dam of the same name, causing a flood wave that poured into the Piave valley, almost completely destroying the town of Longarone and the surrounding municipalities. There were 1.917 victims, of which 1.450 in Longarone alone, then in Codissago, Castellavazzo, Erto and Casso.
The filming of the episode that will be broadcast on La 7 in the fall, probably close to the 62nd anniversary of the tragedy, they lasted until late evening and the 500 was used to transport the video cameras positioned on the hood. At the wheel was Dr. Cazzullo, who remembered the XNUMXs he drove when he was young and who will also recount the terrible event from the car.
During a break in filming we wanted to leave a memory of our Club to both the journalist-host and the director of the broadcast, Claudio Pisano: our pennant and the always appreciated bag with some issues of 4PiccoleRuote, sticker, pen and the book “An Italian Myth”. The “star” of the day was certainly Dr. Cazzullo, but the little 500 also managed to attract the looks and smiles of the whole crew.
