On Sunday 27th July the Cengio (SV) Rally took place, one of the longest running events of the Fiat 500 Club Italia which has now reached its twenty-seventh editionThe colorful 500s animated the Bormida Valley thanks to the commitment of the trustee Lucy Freesia and its close-knit staff. The event was sponsored by the Municipality and Pro Loco of Cengio, the Municipality of Roccavignale, and in collaboration with AVIS and the Slow Food Alta Valle Bormida Condotta. The collaboration with the Italian Red Cross Committee to which the proceeds from the gathering were donated to support the purchase of a new ambulance.
The meeting took place, as usual, in the Piazza del Comune, which also overlooks the Italian Red Cross headquarters. In attendance were founding president Domenico Romano, accompanied by Franco Cappato; trustees Italo Nardini, Giovanni Grisolia, Massimiliano Parodi, and Luca Piccardo; myself (director of 4PiccoleRuote); and about fifty members from various parts. of Liguria and Lower PiedmontAfter breakfast and souvenir photos taken by our friend Renato Ruffino, we set off on a panoramic tour of the surrounding hills, with a tasty aperitif stop at the Susy's Pastry Shop, Ice Cream Shop, and Cafe, recently returned to having its headquarters in Cengio.
Following lunch at the “Circolo l'Orizzonte” in the Pianissolo hamlet of Roccavignale, with the inevitable prize distribution linked to the fundraising for the Red Cross.
The trustee thanks all the participants, the collaborators and above all the sponsors, without whom it would not be possible to organize the rally which is for charity, but without forgetting the Cinquecento runners, who received the usual free gift T-shirt (which changes colour every year, whilst maintaining the unmistakable design and the motto “Slow life and drive Fiat 500”) and a memory in ceramic art handmade by Ingrid Decò.
See you all next year!
