The Monday after the Meeting is always the time for farewells and this year in particular there was the farewell of the Sicilian crews, who will embark today to return to their island. David Carmelo Cappadonna, Catania trustee, regional representative and national secretary, expressed his thanks for the welcome received in Garlenda, recalling with emotion the long organizational process that led Sicily to be the guest region in this 42nd International Meeting of the historic Fiat 500. An organization that saw the enthusiastic participation of the various island Coordinations (the trustees were present at the time of the greeting Peter Folisi, Rosario Strano and Thomas La Susa) representing approximately 3.000 members, who are very passionate and involved.
The farewell moment gave the opportunity to pay homage to the vice-curator of the “Dante Giacosa” Museum with an embroidered painting from Santa Caterina Villarmosa (known as the “city of embroidery”) and a Ragusa ceramic tile. Silvio Bertolotto, who took care of the setting up of a Sicily themed showcase, much appreciated by the sixteenth-century scholars. The idea of thematic showcases will certainly be continued and will provide a better opportunity to show the large quantity of artisanal and artistic objects that have become part of the museum's heritage.
The small but heartfelt ceremony naturally saw the presence of the founding president Domenico Romano, of the vice-president and director of the Meeting Alessandro Vinotti and the trustees Gino Rigolli, Federica Gabba (also the contact person for Emilia Romagna) and Fabio Grosso (also the contact person for Lazio) and various members.
